WOYWW, ATCs & MMM

Good morning to all my lovely bloggy friends!

I hope you are having a lovely sunny morning where you are - we have a bright, crisp, cold morning but luckily no snow so I am very happy!
I had a rather busy week, lots of work at work and I also have done a lot of crafting - I will show everything in a moment but first thing is first! My desk is in such a mess I don't remember it being like that in ages - a real push back situation! Last night I didn't even clean my stamps - ha, ha I was so exhausted from all the crafting I have been doing....I did clean them this morning though......anyway here is my desk have a look.....

turn to the right.....

here is a close up of the mess.....

and look to the left......even more junk then usual.....

and here is the middle.....

So what have I been doing??? Well ever since Sarah from La-De-Dah posted this months My Monthly Mojo I was haunted by ATCs - I have never made one and I really thought I should give it a go....So I started off  by looking at varoius websites with ATCs and I found that they can be so different - some very simple some very elaborate....so how should I start?! I know Sarah always gives a few tips and tricks but I guess your own experience is still the best! The first thing I did was cut a 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 inch piece of cardstock - for some reason I thought that would be quite big as inches are bigger then cm - cm are the measurements that live in my head....anyway when I cut it out - my God was that piece of paper small! So now what to put on it - you can't go too crazy with embellishments because there is no room...so I started out with making the background interesting....I colorwashed and crumpled up a piece of paper - also added some perfect perles spray and started off with stamping these birds (Crafty Individuals stamp) cutting them out and adding silk ribbon and gems....

After I made this one I thought well....I can do this - lets make more so I made this one with another Crafty Individuals stamp the beackground using the same method just added a bit of acylic Lumiere paint around the edges....I really like this angel.....
Next I thought I would celebrate Britain - with the Olympic Games coming up and the Queens Jubilee something British is definitly appropriate....I used stamps from a set from Indigo Blu....

Next up Steampunk ......The background is a Stampattack stamp, TH sprockets , the gentelman is from Indigo Blu....

And as last I thought I would go a bit psychedelic....I used alcohol inks on glossy card ...and the word art...

Here is my whole collection.....

I didn't make a chunky one because I couldn't find anything that I could use as a base and to be honest I was just too lazy to make some sort of box myself - maybe next time....I enjoyed making ATCs - the format is interesting and I will be making more - I might even do a swap - actually that is what ATCs are about - trading!
So there that was a long post I hope you have thoughed it out with me if not I hope you at least had a snoop around my very messy desk!
Have a lovely day!
Lots of hugs to all of you,
Cardarian

WOYWW, Valentine's Day Mania

Hello my dear bloggy friends!

I hope you had a good crafty week, spent a lot of money on crafty sales and are now happily crafting away using your all new stash! Well I haven't been buying much, but I have been crafting! I made a nice birthday card for my mom - huh didn't take a picture and I have been making Valentines Day Tags for a dinner I am hosting and the theme will be Valentine's Day....actually the group should have met for Christmas but we couldn't find the right date that would suit all of us so Christmas has passed and we are now closer to Valentine's Day!
This will be short and sweet as I am a bit busy at the moment ....have a look at my very messy desk...

As you can see most of the stuff is in "love" red......here is a close up of my first tag (have to make 6!!! Huh)

I sprayed the backgrounds - the cherubs are Tumble Fish Studio downloads and all the rest are varios embellies - these tags will be used to cheer up the dinner table!...
Here is another all around photo of my desk.....you can see the ready sprayed and stamped tags in the background - also MS punches I am using and some fibres I bought from Rayher - very good value for money!

Well that is me done for today - have a good snoop around all the worlds desks under the command of our Queen Julia. and be sure I will be coming around to see you - not tonight though because I am hosting this dinner but I will be with you tomorrow and all the rest of the week...
Have a lovely day....
Lots of hugs,
Cardarian

WOYWW, is it really 136???

Hello all my lovely bloggers!

I have been missing from the game for a while due to holidays, visitors and complete lack of creativness! I think I haven't had such a bad spell in ages! I didn't even feel like going into my craft room! But I think it is over now - I have these ideas flashing in my head and I have also put some into reality which I will show in a minute!
I hope you all had lovely holidays and enjoyed your time with family and friends! I had a good time and I would like to say ( a bit late I know) that I do wish you all a healthy, happy and successful most of all very crafty 2012!
So let me show you my desk and my last making and then I will just show you a few photos from my 3 day getaway over the new year!
First up my desk of this morning  - nothing exciting but I am showing off my new stuff !Here is a card I am making and my new stamps - they are from Papermania and they are called Urban stamps - lots of stamps in each package - definitly worth the money!

Next up is my brand new paper crimper - love it! My DBF gave me two very nice new crafty tools for Christmas - one is the paper crimper...

and the other is this lovely case full of tools for making jewelry - not that I am going to make a big crafty change but I am using more and more of it on my cards so this will be handy! Right Jo??????

Next up is my usual mess on the left hand side.....

Here is what I created the other day....finally made something - used my new stamps and crimper......

Ok and now a few photos from my short holiday - here is a view from my hotel room - looking over the gardens and the bay....
