WOYWW, Hello Kitty and a bit of a mixture!

Hello my dear friends!

I am back from my Spa treatment - I went to my mom's and stayed there for a week - there are lots of Spas dotted around where she lives so I went there to do some swimming! It was great and a real improvement to my knee! I still have pain but I must say this past week has helped! So this is my last week off and I have been doing a lot of different things regarding crafting! No cards this week although I will have to make a few before I go to work! I have been trying out various things - working with clay, I did my first page in my altered book, I made an ATC - all will be on show in a minute but first something new on my desk....
As you all know my crafting room is pink - pink walls, various pink accessories but also a few pink of the pink Hello Kitty thingys....
I have a Hello Kitty chest of  drawers....

I have a Hello Kitty cup full of glue tape....

I have lots of Hello Kitty pencils.... (yes that pencil container is new too - isn't it cute with that bee on it???)

I even have Hello Kitty paper towels....

And now look what has suddenly appeared on my desk.....a pink egg......cracking now....pop...

Look what is inside....

Hello Kitty and her little doggy.....a lovely gift from Donna

ohhh sooo cute!
So there another addition to my Hello Kitty madness.....love it!!!! Thank you Donna!
Now that I have shown you a few bits from my desk I can sho you what I have been doing lately....
Playing with clay....not very successful - well my only mistake was I put too much glossy accents on my makes and obviosly being too thick it doesn't dry clear so now my little makes look like they are covered in snot - ha, ha sorry about the word but that what it looks like!

Still I will use them somehow - you can't really learn if you don't try....
Then I made my first altered book page - spent half a day making it.....I really like it - especially the poppies - I stamped Donna Downeys poppies on red tissue paper ( I always thought poppies feel like tissue paper) and cut them out and then just glued them in the middle so they look a bit dimensional......

I also made a black and white ATC, ha, ha to tone down all the pink you have seen.....

I really love it - I am not sure but I think the girl is an Alpha Stamp and the Art stamp is from The Artistic stamper! There will be a bit of jewelry made today which I will show later - I am on the go now! Huh!
I better wrap this up I hope you haven't fell asleep by now! :-)
Have a lovely day and a lovely snoop, join the WOYWW madness at Julia's and I will see you there....
Lots of hugs to all of you,
Cardarian

TH 12 tags of 2012 - August

Hello dear Bloggy friends!

It is the weekend and I have finished my physio, so I thought I would do something crafty! I have been following Tim Holtzes "12 tags of 2012" but I never join in because I usually find that I don't have all the bits and bobs that are needed and sometimes I just can't be bothered to think up something to replace what I don't have. Well this morning when I looked at the tag again I found that I could make it so I did....
I did use all of Tim Holtz techniques but most of the material and embelishments I made myself....
Here is what I made....

The focal image is an Alpha Stamp, the black embossed frame is a Viva stamp. I used a Darice embossing folder - it was the only one I had with a sort of window in the middle! I didn't have the Juniper dabber so I mixed white and teal acrylic paint and got a similar color...I did have all the distress inks Tim Holtz used! I added a bit of lace on top as I thought it went well with the black frame! I colored some ribbon and added some fiber for interest and I made my own "roses" and charms with perls and a swarovski cristal. The sentiment is computer generated!
So there that is my Saturday evening making....I will pop this on the TH blog!
Have a nice rest of the weekend, see you soon!
Lots of hugs to all of you

WOYWW, A card and I am booked for the crop!!!!!!!

Hello my dear bloggy friends!

I hope you are all well and happy! We are back backing at 30 deg C and upwards! Still we did have a few cooler days but no rain - it is becoming a problem for crops and danger for outbreaks of forest fires! Lets hope that the rain will finally find its way here!
Here in Cardarian's happy place we have been still busy with the physio, but I did manage to do a bit of crafting too! I have great news - my lovely DBF has booked a flight for me in October so I will be flying to England and attending the big WOYWW Ludgershall crop! YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
So, so looking forward to meeting all you girls!!! Me and my DBF will be driving down from Kent early Saturday morning so I hope to be there around 10am when all the fun begins!!! My DBF asked if there was going to be a mens programme or shall they just go to the pub?????? Ha, ha.....
Now lets have a look at my desk of this week! I am sure I could get the gold medal for messines! ( still in the Olympic spirit ha, ha....)

Left side.......

Right side.....

and a peek in one of my messy drawers......

All this mess to make this card.....

I used a page out of an old journal we threw out of the library - it is some french foresty journal - ha, ha looks quite fancy on the card....I sprayed the background with dylusions and some other cheap spray I bought the other day in the craft shop....the white flowers are a Paperartsy stamp which I stamped with Versamark and the embossed with white embossing powder....I made the charm myself and I sewed it to the bow...the sentiment is a Teddy Bo and Co stamp.
I also finished the back cover of my art journal ......here to remind you is the front....

and here is the back......

So that is the first bit of my altered book done!

Also this is me done for today - I don't have physio today as we have a holiday but I am back to physio tomorrow! Me and my DBF are off to somewhere cooler - maybe a lake - we are just discussing it!
Have a lovely rest of the day and week - I will try to get to you !
Love and hugs to all

WOYWW, A mini book

Hello my dear friends!

How are you all today?? Enjoying the last bits of the Olympics??? Is your weather still hot or is it cooling down a bit??? Well we are still in the hotter area of Europe but I must admit for the last 2 days we have had it a bit cooler....just around 28 deg C during the day!
So what is going on at Cardarian's happy place??? A lot of physio - I got given another 2 weeks of it! I am happy to have it but it is very tiring - especially because it is now more individual excercises and those physiotherapists really suck the life out of you! Ha, ha....still I am improving my walking - still on crutches but not as painful as it was before!
Update on crafting - it was my daughters birthday this week and as lovely Donna from Doings of Doone has made this video on how to make a mini book I thought that would be really a nice present for her so I did it! Of course I didn't have that tin that sticks to the fridge - my knee situation doesn't allow me to drive over to Ikea in Klagenfurt Austria where I could get one of those so I just made a box myself .......

As you can see I used one of Donnas new stamps from the Artistic Stamper (Mother and daughter) this heart actually folds open and inside I stamped the " you will always be a part of me" somehow I forgot to take a picture of the inside and because my DD has already taken her present I just can't do it now!
Anyway I will show you what a mess I made - my DBF said "how did 3 of you craft here the other week if you make such a mess yourself???" I guess we were a bit more organised.....so here it is the mess in all its glory -

Yes there is a box of biscuits on there but it is my DBF who eats them! Here is a shot from another angle....

And here are a few photos of the tiny book I made that caused all this mess......

I got one of those Sharpie pens from Jo from Jozart - love it! Thanks Jo! I used it a lot in this book!

So that is it - thank you to Donna who made the video - I am always happy to learn something new....and thank you to all of you that will come by and have a look at my desk! I try not to stay on the computer much as honestly I sometimes can't get out of the chair when I sit here too long ( that will probably happen now!)
I promise I will try to get round to as much of you as possible!
Lots of hugs and love to all of you...

WOYWW, what is a name day and my altered book cover!

Hello my dear friends !

I hope you are all well, happy with your athlets winning medals and coping with whatever weather you have! We are having another heatwave - 35 deg C during the day, but at the moment still about 20 deg C in the night so we are still able to have a good nights sleep!
I am faithfully going to physio every day - my knee is very slowly getting better but I am not where I would like to be yet! A bit impatient you see! :-)
Now as you all know today is the world blog hop guided by our lovely Queen Julia so hop along with us if you dare! ha, ha....show your very messy or very tidy desk!
Well I am more on the messy side because I started serious work on my altered book! When Donna and Jo were here we did 2 inside pages with a technique Donna showed us, so my altered book was sitting there for a while and my next move was gessoing the cover and spraying it with Dylusions and Perfect pearl mists!

Another week passed and today I got up to all the stamping

I decided on a child stamp for the front - symbolical of inocence - I am altering a book about the horrors of war and children suffer the most in wars...you can see it on the side there!

I painted the girl with Fresco finish paints and also Sennelier oil pastels - uuh I love them - I only have a few as they are so expensive, but they are worth every euro I payed for them.....

I stamped the girl on sticky canvas which I then stuck to the cover and added a few bits of lace, flowers and a very old ribbon I found in my sewing box - I think I am not finished yet but I couldn't think of what else to put on it! Oh yes I did put some Golden gold mica gel around the girl - it is absolutely fabulous in my opinion...

So that is my crafty bit.......next up WHAT IS A NAME DAY......well we are a Catholic country and when catholics are christened they are usually given a name after one of the saints - every day of the year a different saint is celebrated ( you have huge festivities in countries like Italy and Spain or even more so in South America) so the day  "your" saint is celebrated it is your NAME DAY! Recently on the 26th of July it was St. Anna day and on the 29th of July it was St. Martha! So there now that is cleared I hope!
Next is something I must share with you - how kindness is spread all over the world - a few weeks ago when I blogged about my knee operation a lady from Australia Eliza from Queenartoypia asked me for my address so she could send me a card and today came a lovely envelope with an amazing card inside and a beautiful set of Kaisercraft stamps ! THANK YOU SO MUCH ELIZA - it was a lovely surprise and I am sure my knee will heal much better now!!! Bloggers have a look at my lovely present........

So that is all I have to share for today, I know I am late but these days I am slow - I will come round to you eventually!
Love, hugs and good olympic spirits to all of you!
